Our first Dutch correspondent, Koen Hottentot, former reviewer, is maybe better known publicly for his talents as an illustrator, since his works regularly grace the annual Fairport Convention Cropredy programmes, than for his writing.

Koen's favorite listening material is British folk-rock (although his musical tastes go well beyond what can be covered in Folktales - "as long as it's unfashionable," he says. He has written a number of feature articles about Fairport Convention (of course),the Flying Burrito Brothers, Nick Drake, and most recently, The Strawbs for a Dutch magazine.

Koen has a beard and three cats, and has just discovered his first bald patch, so is slowly beginning to look like a folkie as well. He is currently undergoing humor therapy to deal with the implications of this traumatic finding!
