Thought I’d Pop Over

and lend a hand with an update. There’s a few things in the hopper worth your time, I think.

First up, a fun little book from Glen Cook. Fun? you say? From Glen Cook? Yep. Take a look at Sung in Blood to see what I mean.

Ever hear of MI37? Thought not. There’s a reason for that, which you’ll find in Jonathan Woods’ No Hero. Hint: It’s got aliens.

And so does Cecil Castellucci’s First Day on Earth. Maybe — sometimes it’s a little hard to tell.

How about some noir detective fiction in a fantasy universe? Yeah, yeah, Mike Resnick’s done it, Glen Cook has done it, Steven Brust has done it. . . . Well, now Daniel Polansky has done it his own way, in Low Town.

And while we’re on the subject of noir detective fantasy, check out Tim Waggoner’s Dark War, set in the bustling metropolis of Nekropolis. Um, well. . . .

It’s been too long since we’ve heard from Peter S. Beagle here, but we’ve got a new story collection for you, Sleight of Hand. If it’s Peter S. Beagle, how can you go wrong?

How about we finish up with two works from Grand Masters of science fiction? We have a reissue of Robert A. Heinlein’s Starman Jones, which makes quite a contrast with Frederik Pohl’s New Wave novel, Man Plus.
